A Bespoke, Luxury Retail Park Hoarding Delivery

When Fosse Park underwent redevelopment works, clear customer communication was essential. We designed, produced and installed a dual-branded printed hoarding solution featuring both Boots and Fosse Park branding to help shoppers navigate the site with confidence. The hoarding provided clear wayfinding information, directing visitors to temporary access points, popular retail stores, restaurants and coffee shops while maintaining a seamless shopping experience throughout the project. By combining strong branding with practical navigation, the installation transformed a temporary construction area into an engaging customer touchpoint, helping minimise disruption and keep footfall flowing across the retail park

The biggest risk on a live retail redevelopment isn’t the works themselves, it’s shoppers assuming a store is closed and turning around. The hoarding tackled that head-on: “We’re still here for you” messaging sat directly alongside directional arrows pointing to the temporary Boots entrance, while wider hoarding runs carried an “Open as usual” message and pointed shoppers on to neighbouring stores including M&S. Floor-level arrows reinforced the route at ground level, so the wayfinding worked whether a visitor was reading signage at eye height or simply following the crowd.

Working alongside both the Fosse Park management team and Boots, our in-house studio developed a single wayfinding system that gave equal visual weight to both brands without competing for attention. The printed hoarding graphics covered entrance points, directional signage and lifestyle imagery across the perimeter, turning what could have been a plain construction boundary into a premium extension of the retail park’s own branding. Every panel was produced and fitted to a finish standard built to last the full length of the works, not just the first week.

Considerate Constructors Scheme Compliant From Day One

The hoarding also had to meet Considerate Constructors Scheme requirements as standard on an active retail redevelopment, visible in the registration signage displayed alongside the wayfinding graphics themselves. Clear branding, legible contact information and a well-maintained finish all fed directly into that compliance, on top of doing the practical job of getting customers where they needed to go.

To minimise disruption to both retailers and shoppers, the hoarding was installed out of hours, ensuring work could be completed safely and efficiently without impacting trading hours or visitor access.

By carrying out the installation during quieter periods, we helped maintain normal operations across the retail park while ensuring all wayfinding graphics were in place and ready for customers at the start of the next trading day. This approach enabled a smooth transition to the new temporary routes and access points, helping visitors continue their journey around Fosse Park with minimal disruption.

Out-of-hours installation

The result is a hoarding scheme that does more than screen off works. It keeps Fosse Park trading, keeps Boots visible throughout the disruption, and keeps the wider retail park feeling open, considerate and easy to navigate for every visitor who walks through it.

Dual-branded wayfinding hoarding like this is increasingly standard on live retail developments, where a site can’t afford to feel closed for business during essential works. It’s the same approach we bring to construction and commercial redevelopments more broadly: printed hoarding graphics that do double duty as wayfinding, signage and site branding, rather than just a screen around the works.
