Studio One was briefed to deliver an engaging branded interior space at the state-of-the-art facility for the global leader in construction and DIY tools located in Northampton, right at the heart of the UK’s logistics network.
This facility comprises 235,000 sq. ft. warehouse and 18,000 sq. ft. of office space. Studio One was asked to internally brand both the warehousing and office spaces which meant a wide variety of different internal branding solutions could be specified across the whole project.
Stanley Black & Decker wanted to achieve a premium finish, both stylish and corporate to include their many household tooling brand names; Dewalt, Irwin, Mac Tools, Bostitich and Facom to name a few. The main reception, office spaces, breakout rest areas and connecting spaces were branded with a mixture of acrylic stand off lettering and directional signage and an abundance of high resolution company-related images on large acrylic wall panels fitted throughout. In addition, we designed, produced and installed bespoke wallcoverings for meeting rooms and stairwells, creating eye-catching, unmissable spaces.
The facility also boasts a large viewing platform, from which visitors to the company could gain a bird’s eye view of the warehousing and logistics processes in action. This space offered the perfect opportunity to build brand engagement through a large feature wall timeline of the company’s history, supported by a digital touch screen system displaying the factory layout and showing the tasks being undertaken on site.
In Stanley Black & Decker’s warehouse the sheer scale of size is difficult to take in at first. This enormous space has floor to ceiling racking units one after another to accommodate the vast quantity of stock that is stored in this distribution facility. The branding graphics requirements in this space included zoning of dedicated spaces, directional signage, large vertical banners and self supporting briefing spaces for team meetings with warehouse and logistics staff.
As part of the project we produced and installed a range of post mounted signage, consistently branded for essential directional and health and safety purposes.
Our concepts were generated in accordance with the company’s global branding guidelines and, following approval of these, our artwork team produced production-ready files. All manufacturing was taken care of in-house which ensures quality, even when timescales are tight. Our production team produced high-definition reverse-printed acrylic panels, flood-coated with white ink to enhance the vibrancy, bespoke self-adhesive wallpaper, wayfinding signage, cut acrylic lettering, large banners and vinyl application to the office walls. We supplied bespoke podiums to house 49″ touch-screens used to display brand application videos. Our installation team was then responsible for fitting all of the manufactured components in both the office and warehouse spaces. The high-level platform work was undertaken by our experienced installers who are IPAF and PASMA accredited.
