Hoarding Materials Guide

ACM (Aluminium Composite Material) combines two thin aluminium skins bonded to a rigid polyethylene core. It’s the industry standard for printed site hoarding because it’s weatherproof, holds colour well over long periods outdoors, and can be panel-mounted directly to timber or steel post-and-rail frameworks. Its rigidity also means panels stay flat and professional-looking throughout a project.

ACM is heavier, more rigid and suited to permanent or long-term outdoor installations. Foam PVC is lighter, more flexible and generally used for shorter-term projects or interior applications such as retail refurbishments and shopping centre hoardings. ACM will typically outperform Foam PVC in prolonged UV and weather exposure.

With UV-stable inks and appropriate lamination, ACM hoarding panels typically last 3–5 years outdoors. Foam PVC panels last 1–3 years depending on exposure. SAV vinyl applied to existing structures typically lasts 1–2 years. All materials can be laminated with anti-graffiti film for added protection in high-footfall locations.

Yes — self-adhesive vinyl (SAV) is designed for direct application to existing timber, steel or hoarding board structures. Our Hi-Tac range uses a high-tack adhesive that bonds firmly to flat surfaces and is available in both matt and gloss finishes with laminate options.

Anti-graffiti laminate is a protective overfilm that allows spray paint and marker pen to be wiped from the surface without damaging the print underneath. We recommend it for street-level hoarding on busy urban sites or anywhere with high pedestrian footfall. It’s available on ACM, Foam PVC and SAV materials.

Yes. All materials in our hoarding inventory carry EN13501-1 fire ratings: ACM and Foam PVC are rated to Euroclasse standards, and SAV vinyl carries B-s1,d0 classification. This meets the fire safety requirements for most construction and public-space applications. We can provide certificates on request for compliance purposes.

Yes. While we stock standard sheet sizes (1220×2440mm up to 2030×3050mm depending on substrate), we can cut and produce panels to bespoke dimensions to suit your hoarding structure. Speak to our team about your site survey and we’ll specify the right panel sizes.

All our rigid panel materials (ACM and Foam PVC) can be film or liquid laminated in matt, gloss or anti-graffiti finishes. We also offer colour-matched capping and skirting strips for a seamless, premium appearance on long-run hoarding installations. SAV vinyl is film laminated in matt or gloss.
